Days Inn by Wyndham Searcy

I came to town for barrel racing and didn’t expect much when I booked. The front desk staff turned out to be very friendly and helpful, and my room was spotless and smelled wonderful, even though it was a smoking room. And that bed! I haven’t slept that well in years. This is going to be my go-to place in Searcy.

I love the owners, Kongi and his wonderful wife. I’ve known them pretty much my whole life and used to play with their children. Their son and I would swim and explore the motel. I can still smell their food and remember their garden every summer.

We were in town visiting family who live four states away, and we had paid for two rooms. One bed had dirty sheets, and when I went out one morning and returned at 1 pm, there were no sheets on my beds. I left a note asking for more coffee packets because the breakfast area wouldn’t open for another two hours after I got up. The waffle batter was rancid for two mornings before I finally asked for fresh batter. Breakfast was the same, including brown bananas. My family couldn’t join me at the pool, even though a sign said people with memberships were allowed, and they wouldn’t let me get a membership for my family. The manager also came into the breakfast room while I was eating and told me to leave, even though it was only five minutes past 9 and breakfast had just ended. The manager was so rude and made me feel discriminated against because I’m American. I would not recommend this motel to anyone, for any reason, unless you like being treated like trash by management.

I stayed here in May 2016 and enjoyed it. The room was clean, and the staff were very polite. My granddaughter left her pictures behind, and they called me and mailed them to me. I thought that was very nice of them. I’ll stay there again.
