Days Inn Seaside Heights/Toms River

The staff were pleasant during our short interactions, and the AC worked well. The room seemed clean, with what looked like updates to the flooring, paint, bathroom vanity, and maybe some of the furniture, though there was a slight stale smoke smell. A strange closet held random mirrors and lamps. The pillows were comfortable, but the towels were thin, scratchy, and questionable as to whether they were clean and unused. There were also used, half-empty soap and shampoo bottles from another hotel in the bathroom. The tub was old and stained, the sink drained slowly, and there was no hot water in the shower, so we had to bathe the kids and shower in cold water. Not the worst place, but not the best. The location was decent.

We booked because we expected a lovely, comfortable stay, but it was nothing like that. First, our reservation was cancelled and nobody bothered to call us to ask if we were on our way. The man at the front desk was rude when we arrived, and the rooms looked nothing like the online pictures. The beds felt like they were made of rocks, the room smelled, the AC didn’t work, and the bathroom smelled like someone had thrown up. We went down for breakfast during the 7:30-10:30 am hours, but the lobby doors were closed at 8:43am. The pool was dirty too. I’ll never stay here again.

I’d give this place ZERO stars if I could. The room was FILTHY, with awful floors and mold on the bathroom ceiling. My puppy found old food under the bed and started eating it. I even sent my husband to get a mop so I could clean the room myself. The manager was no help when I reported the mold and the clogged tub. Breakfast was a joke, they didn’t even provide cups for coffee. Overpriced, dirty, and unhelpful staff.

There was trash throughout the hallways, and our room was very poorly cleaned. The toilet had urine on it, and there was hair on the sheets, so I bought my own sheets for the one night we stayed. We were meant to stay four days, but checked out the next morning. No towels were in the room, and when I asked, I got only bath towels. There was no phone in the room either. I’ve never stayed somewhere so nasty. No standards, no care, no upkeep. I don’t know how this place is open.
