Hotel Charlee Villas by the Beach

The staff were great and friendly, there was plenty of sleeping space, and the beds were very comfortable. We had a good experience this past week. The rooms do need some upgrades, though. Our bathroom had flies, and the tub felt strange underfoot when I showered, almost like I might fall through. Given the price and how close it is to the boardwalk, I think you get what you get and move on.

Jordan answered all my questions and did his best to accommodate our requests, which made a great impression. My family and I stayed one night in an ocean view room, with a clear look over the boardwalk. The room was clean and had plenty of towels. I visit Seaside Heights every summer and know the hotels can be hit or miss, but I was pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed this stay. I know where I’ll stay next time.

The location worked really well for our weekend plans, and the man at the desk was kind and personable both in person and on the phone. We only needed a place to sleep after a night out and before an early boardwalk event, so for the price it did the job. The room itself was a letdown compared with the online pictures. The bathroom seemed to be the cleanest part, but the chair had cigarette holes and a big tear, the carpet near the heater was dirty, and there were no towels. We weren’t planning to shower during our short stay, so that didn’t bother me too much. The bed blanket was thin, so I’d bring an extra one. There were undergarments in the parking lot, and the place could use better preparation by staff or cleaners. I’d rather have had no chair and no appliances than the damaged ones. It wasn’t the worst stay, but it wasn’t the best either. I’m willing to pay more for somewhere nicer next time, maybe even an Air BNB. If they cleaned up the appearance, I wouldn’t rule out coming back.

The beds were comfortable, and the place allows dogs, but the room itself wasn’t clean. After checking in, we had to call for towels and washcloths. The clean towels arrived quickly, and the man who brought them was extremely nice. We also reported a stopped-up sink and were told someone would come in 15 minutes, but nobody ever showed up. We ended up brushing our teeth in the bathroom because of the sink. I wouldn’t stay here again.
