Magic Carpet Lodge

Even though my boyfriend and I arrived in the middle of the night, we were greeted really warmly. We loved using the window, too. Thanks so much for the lovely room and hospitality. The cleaning ladies were right on top of everything!

It was easy to get to, right by the road, and handy for driving to Monterey or Carmel. The room was a little cold, and we could still hear the street, though it was surprisingly quiet for a place so close to the highway.

Kishan, the new manager, really made my stay better. He was warm and professional from check-in, paid attention to details, and clearly cares about making guests comfortable. He’s approachable, attentive, and ready to help. It felt like the hotel was more organized and welcoming under his management. The one small annoyance was cleaning staff knocking very early a few times. It wasn't a big deal, but use the “do not disturb” sign if you want to sleep in. Otherwise, it was a great stay. I'd recommend the hotel and plan to come back.

I stayed on January 20th. The fridge made too much noise at night, and I found a woman's shoe strap, which made me think the maids don't clean the room very often. At checkout, the owner made things inconvenient by asking me to go into the office instead of taking the key through the window where I'd gone up to him. I thought he wanted to hear how the stay went, but they asked me to leave a review, so here it is. Sorry it's not the one you wanted.
