Salt House - 2 Br Home

I'd booked and paid, then realized within an hour that I'd chosen a different Beachside hotel by mistake. I contacted them right away hoping to get a refund, but never received a call or email. They completely ignored me. I wasn't sure what to expect, but at least hoped for some follow-up and customer service. Stay away.

The TV and fireplace were nice, and the hotel had what you needed. But it needed a much deeper clean: there was dust and hair in the corners. The kitchen table wobbled, and the bathroom door wouldn't close properly.

We paid $634 for two nights. The one good thing was that the rooms had been newly remodeled and were very clean, which we appreciated. The room was much tinier than it looked online, about 12 by 12, and the website didn't give room sizes. The curtains were see-through and wouldn't close all the way, so we hung up a blanket for a bit more privacy. The door let in a draft, didn't latch all the way, and had a loose, wiggly knob. The bathroom towel rod came off the wall the first time I took a towel from it. Wi-Fi kept cutting in and out. There was loud music and yelling or talking in the parking lot all day, like a party. The people in room 8 were also extremely loud, and the woman sounded like she was either moaning or crying in a weird way. We called the office as soon as we noticed some issues, but there was no on-call manager. Just the desk guy, who said he had no authority to help us.

There were barely any locks, the hardwood floors did nothing to block sound, and there was no staff available to help. The room itself was nice, but the place felt more like an Airbnb. Their policy is no refund if you cancel six days or less before your reservation, with no exceptions, so be sure of your plans. I ended up paying twice as much to get a room somewhere that felt safer and had better staff.
