Sand & Sea Apartments

We’ve stayed here several times and the condos have always been clean and well equipped. We love how easy it is to get to both the beach and town.

Two days into our stay, my wife looked under the bed our kids were sleeping on and found a USED TAMPON. That was the most disturbing thing, and I wouldn’t be writing this if not for that. Management apologized and offered to remove the $150 cleaning fee, but since the room clearly hadn’t been cleaned properly, that didn’t feel like compensation for an unsanitary room. There were other problems from the start. The laminate floors were badly damaged, there was random hair on the bathroom walls, and the place felt less nice than the ad suggested. We’d specifically booked a “sea view” room with a fireplace, but to see the ocean we had to go onto the balcony and peer around the corner. The fireplace had been remodeled with a random plug run through the Sheetrock and left dangling by an outlet. It didn’t look safe or up to code, so with our daughters staying there, we chose not to plug it in.

We parked the car once and didn’t need it again until we left, since everything was an easy walk away. The unit was very nice, with lovely surf and boardwalk views. On a cold, rainy, windy weekend, the cozy fireplace was especially welcome. We’d definitely recommend it.

We were happy with the clean unit and breathtaking view, and appreciated how well the staff kept in touch. Some things could use updating, but the accommodations worked for us. Our room wasn’t ready when we arrived, so we waited about half an hour while it finished being cleaned. I wasn’t too worried, and the front desk gave us a generous gift card for a local place to eat because of the delay. That really impressed me and showed they care about their standards. We’d definitely come back if we can.
