WorldMark Seaside - Extra Holidays

We had a wonderful February stay at Seaside WorldMark and would absolutely come back. The outdoor pool was heated to 87 degrees, so swimming in winter was actually comfortable, and the hot tub was perfect and relaxing. We were there over Super Bowl weekend, and the resort hosted a really fun party for guests in the game room. They provided pizza, chips, cake, and drinks. It was a thoughtful touch that made things feel festive and welcoming, and gave our family a great sense of community.

I hate posting negative feedback, but people should be warned. We prepaid for the vacation, and when we checked out the desk agent told us we were "all set to go." A few hours later, another charge came through for 151.00+ in room tax. We asked why it hadn't been itemized when we prepaid or at checkout. The response was that the desk agent should have told us. It felt like a common deflection to avoid addressing the concern. It seems obvious to me that the practice is to tell customers they're good to go, then charge more after they've left. The representative said he'd call back about his oversight, but never did. Maybe that's part of his training too. Customers, beware: read the fine print or get someone to confirm you're fully paid before leaving.

The resort sits right on the boardwalk and promenade, on the street leading to all the shops. The staff were friendly and accommodating, and the rooms are nice and well equipped. The pool and jacuzzis are a good size and heated, making this a good spot for a short getaway. Everything was excellent except for two things: the tap water is highly chlorinated, and the showerhead limiter makes the spray very weak. I almost preferred cupping water in my hand at the faucet as a makeshift shower.

No maid service, but you can get more items when needed. The room is clean and very comfortable, with a good-sized living room and full kitchen with d/w. Overall, very nice. This is my second stay in 60 days. The pool is noisy, and you'll hate it if your room is next to the landmark traffic circle. It's a cruise center for kids with noisy cars, so fair warning.
