I’m extremely disappointed with our stay at Courtyard by Marriott Downtown Seattle. I’m a Titanium Elite member of Marriott Bonvoy, and the experience fell far short of what I expect from the brand. We had confirmed specific room needs before arriving, including connecting rooms, but at check-in we were given keys for only one room and had to go back in person to get the other keys. The stay started off disorganized and kept getting worse. I’m diabetic and needed the refrigerator for my insulin injection, but a previous guest’s ice cream was still inside. The trash hadn’t been emptied either. These were signs that the suite hadn’t been properly checked before we were given it. We told the front desk, and they said housekeeping would come. No one showed up. When we were heading out to dinner, someone casually asked if they should send someone then. Nobody took responsibility, acted with urgency, or came to inspect the room, even though we asked. Mistakes happen, but the indifference and lack of accountability were unacceptable. If this is how Titanium Elite members are treated, I’m concerned about the property’s standards. It wasn’t the hospitality or service Marriott represents. Very disappointing.

I was there for a conference and thought the location was great. I didn’t use a room or need customer service, but the conference meal was tasty, with fresh fruit, scrambled eggs, sausage, bacon, and potatoes. The coffee was great too. I took off a star because the bathrooms were being renovated, leaving the gym bathroom as the only one available for everyone.

Nothing was actually wrong with the hotel, so I can’t justify a lower score. It’s classy and proper, but it felt a little dull next to the other places nearby. The Citizen and the Moxy have smaller rooms, yet more personality, and their social spaces make you want to hang out. This one just felt too gray.

A solid place with comfortable beds, friendly staff, and a convenient location for getting around. We didn’t try walking anywhere, though some directions made a few spots seem fairly close. Our third-floor view of the Lake wasn’t amazing, but it was good enough. We’d stay again.

The king mattress felt a bit hard, and the towels and toilet paper were VERY CHEAP, so thin you could nearly see through the paper. That’s not what I expect from a Marriott, and it left me disappointed. The hotel was clean, the service was excellent, and the location was good, but I won’t stay there again. Sorry.
