Hampton Inn & Suites by Hilton Seattle/Northgate

We were in town for medical treatments, and this hotel was conveniently close to the facilities. The parking garage wasn't packed, and there are plenty of restaurants with good reviews nearby, plus a movie theater and a great ramen place. Green Lake Park is not far either. The rooms were spacious and clean, the bathrooms were great, and the bedding was clean. I wasn't keen on the sliding bathroom doors since they wouldn't stay shut. Still, the staff were wonderful, from Bernadette at the front desk to everyone who helped us extend our stay, the breakfast room staff, and housekeeping. The hotel, halls, garage, workout room, and breakfast area were all spotless. They really stay on top of it. I'd recommend this place and stay again if I need to return.

Nancy, Connie, and Khalia gave stellar hospitality and made this feel like a home away from home. The guest rooms are thoughtfully designed, and housekeeping keeps both rooms and shared areas sparkling. The exterior is clean and well cared for too, though the garage could use a power wash around the elevator entrances. I love the gated garage and felt safe using it. They do post reminders that the hotel isn't responsible for damage or theft, even with the gate. The gym on the first floor is well maintained, and the pool is also on that floor but currently closed. The laundry room is upstairs on the second floor. Its door slams, so be considerate of nearby guests, and the washers and dryers only take coins. Tap-to-pay would be a good upgrade. The location works well for me, close to shopping, food, healthcare centers, and local colleges, with light rail nearby for downtown Seattle and other parts of the area. This is my favorite Hampton by far. They sell alcohol here, which I love since I can have a drink without leaving the hotel. If you do, please mind your manners and don't get rowdy so the rest of us can keep enjoying it! Lol.

Housekeeping was great about bringing fresh towels every day, and the price and nightly parking were good. But the blanket in the bag and the comforter in our room looked pretty gross when we arrived. We stayed for the pool, especially for the kids, and it was out of order. I understand repairs happen, but I wish they'd called or emailed before the cancellation deadline. The breakfast had good options for my kids, though nothing gluten-free for me. I also saw a worker wipe tables and clear dirty plates with gloves, then use those same gloves to stir the eggs and handle the hot food lids. That was gross. Three homeless women who smelled really bad and looked like they were on hard drugs got into the hotel, piled food onto plates, and hung around in the hall. It freaked me out, alone with my toddler. The stay was okay, but not great.

We chose this hotel mainly because of the pool, and my grandkids were so disappointed when it stayed closed. We were first told repairs would be done and it would reopen January 1st, then heard they were waiting for parts. After I asked each day, the website was finally changed to say it would be closed until January 31st. The location just off I-5 is great, and the staff were kind and helpful. The rooms were comfortable, and I liked that they didn't have window AC and heat units because it made things much quieter. The supplied water, shampoo, and conditioner left my hair feeling oily even though I washed it daily. That's why I gave it three stars.
