The breakfast was fantastic, with fresh waffles, fruit, yogurt, and even Starbucks coffee. The front desk was also helpful throughout our work trip, and the gated garage felt very safe, though there’s no valet and both the spaces and driving area are tight. Our room had some real problems: blunts on the balcony, splatter marks on the windows near the views, AC that wouldn’t turn off, and a heater and fireplace that didn’t work. The pullout mattress was thin and dirty on the side you don’t sleep on. The stay worked out well enough for work, but if I came back with a partner, I’d ask for a better room.
April, the manager as I recall, was great, and the women working breakfast kept everything clean and stocked. Staff overall were attentive and helpful, check-in was easy, breakfast was delicious, the rooms were clean, and I liked the location. Parking was a tight fit, but manageable even with our large car. There weren’t hidden fees for us. I’d read some harsh reviews and was nervous, but my stay quickly changed my mind. Seattle does have homeless people, and I don’t think the hotel is at fault for that. Rooms can get dirty while guests are staying in them, too. I suspect some complaints come from people hoping to get free things, though that’s just my impression. I’d strongly disagree with the negative reviews. Book through Hilton, not a third-party app. Great job, Hilton.
The hotel was handy for our visit to the student visa processing center, just an eight-minute walk away. We were there while working on my daughter’s visa, and the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. The room had everything we needed, but the building is older and the AC couldn’t cool it down, even when turned up. Everything else was great. If, like me, room temperature matters a lot to you, I’d avoid an upper floor.
The room was spacious and comfortable, with amazing pillows, and I loved having a balcony. The location was great, though parking was very expensive at $45. Staff were amazing and really tried to make sure I was happy. Housekeeping only came once during a stay longer than five days, but whenever I needed something for the room, they brought it up quickly.
Breakfast was the bright spot, consistently good like at other Homewood Suites. But it wasn’t enough to make the rest of the stay worthwhile. I’ve stayed at Homewood Suites around the country and usually seek them out, so I expected this one to be similar. Instead, the rooms felt old and not very clean, and the garage was awful. It costs $55 a day, spots may not even be available, and maneuvering through it takes professional driving skills. The spaces are tiny, so if you care about your car, park somewhere else. There are plenty of other convenient downtown hotels. This is the first negative review I’ve written, but I wish I hadn’t assumed this Homewood would be like the others.
