Hotel Ballard

Both the hotel and room are beautiful, but I can’t recommend this stay. We’re on a long road trip and hoped to treat ourselves to a little luxury. There was no hot water, which was especially disappointing with the huge soaker tub. Worse, the staff response was unprofessional and unhelpful. They said nothing could be done until maintenance arrived late in the morning, even though we were leaving by 8am. No apology, and no effort to make it right. I understand it was very early and there may not have been a maintenance person available, but being met with a shrug and “tough luck” after paying over $350 for the room was unacceptable. Spend your hard-earned money somewhere else.

I'm really disappointed. After recommending this place to friends, family, and colleagues for years, I had a family member stay here. They became very sick and, just hours too late, asked the hotel manager if they could reschedule rather than cancel. The manager wouldn't allow it. The hotel also refused to transfer the room so I could use it with the kids after dinner, leaving the money as good as lost. That's a terrible way to treat a loyal customer. I'm sorely disappointed this business gets to call Ballard home now.

The next day, the male front desk clerk was great. He was helpful all day and had a good attitude, and the bartenders at Stone Burners on 6/11/25 at 5p deserve awards for making my last night enjoyable and keeping me from regretting the stay. The room, though, was 80 degrees when I arrived. The female desk clerk acted like it was my problem, and neither of us could figure out the thermostat. I felt treated like a weirdo for wanting the room cooler. The hotel had no amenities. I'd researched five-star hotels in fun, funky local neighborhoods, but the service in Seattle felt snobby across the city, not just here. A female ticket clerk at the Space Needle, with a thick mustache, was so condescending and rude that we nearly stopped to cuss her out. If you're looking for hospitality, go to Savannah Georgia, where people do what you want instead of deciding what you should get. In Seattle, I'd choose a chain hotel for better service and probably less of a holier-than-thou attitude.

Such a pretty, cozy place with a real European boutique feel. There are lots of places to eat nearby, and the location is great. I loved staying here and can't wait to come back 🤗
