Residence Inn by Marriott Seattle Downtown/Convention Center

I was in town for a birthday getaway last week, and the staff were amazing. The facility was really clean, and the area was quiet and clean, with almost everything close by. Our room was a city view studio suite. I was especially impressed by the convenience of the full size fridge and counter top stove, particularly while traveling with a toddler.

We were there as a family with two kids, and I can't think of a single complaint. The room had everything we needed, and the bedding was very clean. Room service was quick, too. The receptionist went out of their way to give us a corner room with the kids and helped me sign up for points toward free stays in the future. Highly recommend for families. I'll definitely go back!

A big disappointment. The room wasn't clean, and the sofa bed was especially gross: stained cushions and yellow and dark brown marks on the pull-out mattress. I asked for a replacement and was told they didn't have another one. A hotel with no clean sofa bed mattress? Yikes. I had to complain through the Marriott app chat. When we returned the next day, they'd replaced it, which is what they should have done before we spent the night with one less bed than expected. I also tried to order two waters and a quesadilla at the restaurant. The waters took 25 minutes, and after an hour I gave up on the quesadilla. About 90% of the tables were empty. Marriotts just keep getting worse and worse.

I stayed for a week and usually avoid hotels like the plague, but this one deserves credit. The room felt smaller than normal, but it had kitchen equipment and a great view. The kitchen was a godsend, and I loved seeing the new Seattle Summit convention center from our well-located downtown spot. The hotel was clean, the breakfast was high quality every morning, and the staff were amazing, responsive, and friendly every time I dealt with them. I'd stay again!
