The Alexis Royal Sonesta Hotel Seattle

I travel for work literally every week and am “home” about four days a month, so I booked this hotel because it was close to where I was working and the pictures looked decent. Dang, what an experience. The room was cool and spacious, the bed was comfy, and there were four free bottles of water. Everything was great. The guy who checked me in was so nice and efficient, and gave me some other recommendations. When I came back from my excursion, he recognized me and said, “you made it back!” I asked if there was candy I could buy, and he gave me some gummy bears. That might not be the norm, so don't expect it, and if his manager is reading this, don't you dare get my boy in trouble. I don't think I've ever left a Google review for a hotel before, but this stay warranted one. Thanks for the awesome visit!

The room was comfortable and clean, with a good number of power outlets, and the staff were nothing but helpful. I paid extra to get into the room early, but it wasn't ready much before 4pm. They took off the charge and kept our luggage in a secure room, so it really wasn't a big deal.

The employees were very kind, the beds were comfortable, and the location was great. Those were the best parts of my first stay in downtown Seattle. I was excited and had high expectations for the Alexis after reading the reviews, but the rest was disappointing. Parking was ridiculous, and valet at $67 a night was absolutely not worth it. The hotel smelled like dogs had peed all over the carpet, with some strange perfume apparently being used to cover it. The lobby and my roomy bedroom looked nice, but every time we stepped into the hall, we got hit with that awful smell. The room didn't seem very clean either. It was dusty, and there was a bobby pin on the bathroom floor when we arrived, so it didn't look like it had been swept. There were no instructions for the remote. The front desk tried to help when we called, but said they'd been having problems with all the TVs. We had drinks and appetizers at the restaurant. The drinks were pretty good, but I'd save your money on the food.

Everyone who worked here was so kind and helpful. Noble at the front desk especially stood out. He was always ready to help with a smile, and when I lost my wallet, he did a great job trying to make my day better. I really enjoyed staying here. Great place.
