Capt Hiram's Resort

We brought fresh snapper of our own and they prepared and presented it beautifully. Staff met us at the dock to help tie up, and Sam looked after us well on the fun side of the bar. A local IPA and the whole outing made for a delightful Florida experience. What a fun place.

We booked at the last minute for an overnight stop before a cruise, and they were very accommodating, including providing a pack and play. They even got my toddler involved in a scavenger hunt. The room worked perfectly for our family of four, with the restaurant just across the street. We had a great seafood dinner and cocktails at the sand bar while listening to live music. A lovely mom and pop style resort, and we're glad we found it.

The river room view really was right on the river, and everything felt clean and updated. Our two queen beds were incredibly comfortable and supportive, and the shower was so good I could've stayed in it all day. The food on site was really good too. There isn't much happening in this small town beyond a couple of restaurants and whatever local event is on, but Capt Hiram covers all the bases. Parking was plentiful, and you can walk to the places along Riverside Dr. If you're in the area, this is where I'd stay.

We'd happily come back. The riverfront rooms are worth booking for the views and the peaceful, private feel. There are lots of spots around the property to sit, eat, have a drink, or just relax. The location also makes it easy to walk along the Intracoastal. The waterfront scenery is beautiful, with pelicans gliding past, dolphins surfacing, and fish visible from the property. Parking was simple, and the pool bar was convenient and attentive. Breakfast was outstanding, freshly prepared, high quality, and served in generous portions. The place offers a relaxed waterfront stay and good value. Be sure to take a River King your during your stay, you won't be disappointed!
