The room was otherwise clean, the bed was comfortable, and the hot shower felt great. I was glad I'd brought a small hairdryer since the one provided didn't work. My one-night stay began with a smoke alarm that kept chirping, and the phone didn't work when I tried to call the desk. They moved me to a working room. The cleaning crew could do a better job sweeping cobwebs and bugs from the ceiling corners.

We'd seen some worrying reviews after booking and before our trip, but our two nights went well, without the problems other people had described. The hotel is definitely aged and a bit outdated, yet both the room and bed were clean, and we slept really well.

The bed was comfy, the showers were hot, and everything else about the stay was great. The staff did a great job cleaning the rooms every day, and we loved staying here. Breakfast was the one letdown. The coffee was okay and I liked the apple juice, but everything else tasted fake or rubbery. I really wasn't satisfied with it.

One star is far too generous. The room smelled overpoweringly of a plug-in fragrance, so I unplugged it, then noticed burn marks on the back. There were no smoke detectors. The bed was hard and squeaked with barely any movement, and the musty-smelling pillows made the bed smell even after I set them aside. The hot water wasn't working when we arrived, though staff said they were working on it. After using the toilet, I checked again, but there was still no hot water. The faucet handle came off, though it wasn't broken, just loose, and the faucet leaked onto the vanity, so I had to put a towel there. Our feet and socks turned black, like the floor hadn't been mopped in ages. Then the toilet stopped flushing. I wanted to leave and ask for a refund, or at least part of it, but my husband said they were working on the problems. At 9 pm? I doubt it. We stayed, but by 6 am I'd had enough. We packed up and left without showering. When we checked out, I cancelled the second night and asked for a partial refund, but the manager wasn't there and had to handle it. We went back to speak to the manager, and the second night was cancelled, but we paid full price for the first. Don't waste your time. Pay a little more for somewhere better, it's worth it. How can they serve a hot breakfast without hot water? Never again!
