The spa was a real highlight. We had a couples massage, and it was wonderful; the space and the staff both felt welcoming. The car park team were great too, and everyone seemed to work hard to make guests feel comfortable. One thing to think about before booking is which way your room faces. Courtyard-facing rooms look out over the restaurant patio and pool, with lovely views, but you can hear nearly everything happening there. The noise can carry late into the night. People were still loud outside after 12:30am on our last night. I switched on the fan and that helped. I’d suggest setting a closing time for the courtyard, maybe 11pm on weeknights and midnight on weekends. Even with that, our stay at Amara was fabulous.

The astronomer-led stargazing event was such a cool bonus, and the restaurant food was amazing. We had a lovely honeymoon here, with pretty views, a comfortable room, and great staff. It did feel more like a boutique hotel than a resort and spa. The pool-area hot tub is tiny, and I would have liked a larger one or more hot tubs. There could also be more spa amenities included, since using the spa comes with a separate charge. Still, we had a great time.

The infinity pool and jacuzzi, looking out at the red mountains, were easily the best part. We also loved the quiet scene at Oak Creek behind the property, with ducks drifting along the water. Our room was spotless and comfortable. Evenings around the pool fireplace felt warm and cozy, with a touch of luxury. We had an exceptional stay.

The room was spacious and nicely equipped, and from our balcony we could see both the grounds and the red rock. It even had a Smeg beverage fridge. We were impressed by the soundproofing too: people had gathered in a seating area about 30 foot away and one floor below, but shutting the patio door blocked out all the noise. Our king view room had a stunning view, and the staff were incredibly friendly and attentive. We booked through Chase, so breakfast was included, and it was delicious. We liked the cowboy benedict, with ham substituted, and the everything bagel plate, with bacon substituted. Honestly, when can I move in for good?

Jesus at the front desk made a stressful arrival feel easy. He managed to extend my stay, upgrade my room, and work around availability so I could add a few nights. When my original room was booked, he moved me to a better one for the remaining nights. He handled it all quickly and smoothly, with no stress. As someone visiting from out of town for the first time, that care meant a lot. It felt like my first little “miracle” or lucky break in Sedona. Jesus was kind, professional, and efficient when I really needed help. I’d been nervous about booking, but I’m glad I chose Amara Resort and Spa. I was in Arizona for the first time, after flying into Phoenix and driving to the Grand Canyon, and arrived exhausted. I needed somewhere safe and calm, with staff who cared. The property felt peaceful and well looked after, and the atmosphere was great. For the location and experience, the price seemed very reasonable, especially beside other places nearby that felt wildly overpriced. If you want a good location, fair pricing, a nice atmosphere, and staff who go the extra mile, Amara Resort and Spa is worth considering. I’m grateful I met Jesus.
