Hilton Vacation Club Ridge on Sedona

The rooms are spacious, comfortable, and clean, and they do a midweek cleaning. Our one-bedroom lockout unit also had its own washer and dryer. We weren't near the pools or hot tubs, but that didn't matter to us. If they eased up on the sales pitch, the stay would be even better.

The pools and hot tubs scattered around the property were a favorite, especially soaking under the stars after a full day of hiking. The location also made it easy to get to restaurants, shopping, and trails. We'd gladly stay here again when we're back in Sedona. Our unit at Hilton Vacation Club Ridge on Sedona felt more like a vacation rental than a hotel room. It was a spacious one-bedroom that had recently been redone, with brand-new furniture, appliances, and carpet. It was very clean, and we loved having a full kitchen with everything needed to make breakfast each morning.

The room was clean, the bathroom was large, and the shower had plenty of hot water. But the bed was awful: the mattress was thin and shook whenever either of us so much as breathed. The air conditioning was incredibly noisy, so we had to sleep with earplugs. The sofa wasn't comfortable either. The location was okay for driving to trailheads early, but getting into town after about 10 am was a nightmare because of traffic. There's no restaurant on site, food delivery is unreliable, and our room had no kitchen. Uber is scarce, so getting takeaway meant driving out to pick it up, eating in Oak Creek, or sitting in traffic for a long time, sometimes 20-plus extra minutes. I'd stay closer to town if I wanted to go out for dinner and walk there. This was probably one of the worst Hilton's I've stayed in, and I'd only choose it for early activities and quiet evenings.

The staff were friendly and shared helpful information about the area. The accommodations were very nice, with dining and shopping nearby and many popular attractions within easy reach. The room or condo had no garbage can and no alarm clock, which was a downside. I visited during a cold snap, so I couldn't enjoy the pool.
