Sedona Pines Resort

The resort was a nice place to stay for three days, though I didn’t have much time to explore it. Our place was small and cute, with everything we needed, and I especially liked having a little kitchen. As vegetarians, we often buy food to keep on hand and reheat, so it came in handy. The pool and spa were a welcome extra. The location was convenient too, near coffee shops, restaurants, and the stupa.

The layout was cozy and well designed, with a functional kitchen, a sunny little arch, and a patio between the two units if you book a two-bedroom. But the room needs some updating and TLC. The worst part was the smell of stale furniture mixed with smoke. Staff brought me two sprays because there wasn’t another room available. We left the room empty overnight with the windows open, fan running, and plenty of spray. It was bearable the next day, but we lost the use of one room for a night. Opening the window and spraying before we arrived might have prevented it. The bathroom had odd problems too. The counter sticks out so far that the toilet lid won’t stay up, and it slams down loudly. The lever also made a loud metallic cracking noise when pressed. The tub was there, but the hot water ran out when it was only a few inches deep. Check-in was easy, the location was decent though there are no views, and the on-site restaurant was nice. Still, the room could use a lot of attention.

We had a really good time here and would gladly return. The cottages have a nostalgic feel and are cozy, with everything we needed, which made ours feel more like a small home than a hotel room. It’s a charming place and a great value for Sedona. It is dated, but that’s part of its appeal.

The renovated rooms looked good, though you could still tell they were converted manufactured homes. I got a discounted rate, but the usual prices seem a little exorbitant. The timeshare presentation was interesting, though outside my budget. The location is somewhat out of the way, but that was fine since we had a rental car. The kitchenette had the essentials, and three women shared the one bathroom without any trouble. My sister found the foldout couch comfortable, and I slept like a bear on the very comfortable bedroom mattress. The room got quite warm during the day with the heat, though it cooled quickly at night when we opened the doors.
