Sky Ranch Lodge

We’d stay here again. The room was clean, roomy, nicely decorated, and smelled great. It had a private back patio and a front sitting area overlooking the airport, which was pretty quiet. The views were lovely, and the shuttle service was great. We had dinner outside at Creekside with a heater. The wagyu burger and creamy brie truffle soup were so good.

We loved how warmly they welcomed our dog, including a wonderful bag of treats. The Airstream takeout setup was cute, especially lit up at night and early in the morning, but the pizza that gets such high ratings was undercooked, and the latte milk was heated rather than frothed. Our two nights were fantastic otherwise. The room was spacious, comfortable, and quiet, and the grounds were beautiful. The nearby scenic overlook was a great sunset spot, with a band playing both nights. A trail starts across from it and has spectacular views. We’ll definitely come back.

The main downside was the limited food at the hotel. There’s some kind of outdoor setup, but it wasn’t great, and I wish management would open a breakfast restaurant. There’s a nearby restaurant, but I didn’t want to eat there every day. The balcony was lovely, but it wasn’t safe for my dog because it’s open underneath on two sides. I stayed six days and enjoyed the property, which is beautiful and well maintained. My 13-year-old dog, Luna, loved the attention from staff, and I appreciated the goodie bag for her. I had a balcony with a view toward the rim, great for photos. The landscaped grounds are extensive, and the lobby has tea and coffee, where we spent time chatting with people in the mornings and evenings. The free shuttle into town runs from 2pm-10pm, which was handy for frequent meals and shopping.

The Airstream on site was a convenient dining choice, and they delivered to the room. We really liked the salad and pizza. The only small frustration was that the TV picture was so bright we couldn’t figure out how to turn it down. Our room was clean and in good shape, with soft linens and a plush mattress and pillows. Check-in came with a friendly welcome, and the Ice-T in the lobby was a nice touch. We’d definitely stay again.
