The Inn Above Oak Creek

I spent two nights at the Inn in Room 12, and the room was beautiful and welcoming. My favorite part was the balcony over Oak Creek, where I could sit and listen to the water, breeze, and birds. The room was even more impressive than it looked on the website, and it was very clean. The staff were kind and so helpful, more like friends or family. Whenever I'm in Sedona, this is the only place I'll stay.

Room #1 had a king bed, fireplace, and balcony looking over Oak Creek. It was spacious, and the location made it easy to get to everything we wanted to do. The bed was comfortable, though too tall for me to climb into easily. A little lower would suit this old guy better. Breakfast was free and got our mornings started. The room looked just like the website photos. Inn Above Oak Creek would be a good place to stay on a Sedona, AZ visit.

The innkeepers were very accommodating, the bed was comfortable, and our room had a good view. It's very close to Tlaquepaque shopping. But maintenance seems to be getting neglected. The wall-mounted split HVAC had no control, and the regular thermostat did nothing. Heat came only from the wall fireplace, while a freestanding AC unit vented through a window. The small bathroom's exhaust fan didn't work, and the owners seemed to know, since there was air freshener on the toilet. Showers left the room full of steam. There was no coffee maker or fridge, and with just two outlets on the nightstand, there wasn't enough room to charge our two phones, two tablets, and hearing aid chargers. I get up around 4:30, so I was lucky there was coffee in the kitchen. Breakfast was a pretty basic continental one. Also, traffic was stop and go for about four miles as we approached. We were surprised by how much Sedona has changed.

It feels more like a bed and breakfast because the inn is small, not some huge place, and the views are wonderful. Donna is amazing, so kind and clearly loves people. The rooms feel homey. I'd highly recommend staying here. You won't regret choosing this inn over Best Western or a Holiday Inn!
