Days Inn & Suites by Wyndham Sellersburg

I booked a room directly with the front desk for an employee, giving them the guest’s name, my name, and all the needed details. I also provided our rewards number and was assured it would be attached. But after the stay on February 18, with checkout on February 19, 2026, the receipt showed no rewards credit. When I called on February 20, another staff member said no number had been registered. We stay in hotels 200-250 nights a year, so I told them their property was coming off our list. I was then directed to Wyndham’s rewards department, and spent close to half an hour getting it sorted. The points were eventually added to our account.

The odor was so strong it stayed in our clothes for days after we left. I had booked three nights to visit family for Thanksgiving because this was the closest hotel to their home, but we only stayed one night before canceling the other two and moving to the Hilton in Jeffersonville. I’d always liked Wyndham, but this place fell far below what I expect from the brand. Corporate didn’t seem to care when I reported it, saying the property was independently owned under a franchise. I’ll avoid Wyndham now. When we returned late on our first night, the room smelled damp and musty. I initially figured it was just an old building, but it lingered. There was also a huge gap under the door, enough to fit my foot through, so I stuffed a towel into it. Every room seemed to have the same problem. We were on the first floor, and noise from the room above kept me awake most of the night. By morning my throat felt dry and scratchy, and I wondered if something in the room, possibly mold, was causing it. The bathroom was just as unpleasant. The towel placed by the tub was brown-stained and had a hole, and another towel got dirty from being used to block the door gap. The front desk wouldn’t give us a third towel, saying each room was limited to two and we had to return one to get another. My fiancé and I needed an extra one, including for my hair. I felt gross taking a shower there and wanted to leave as soon as I could. I also asked to speak to a manager, but the staff wouldn’t let me. After we checked out and canceled the remaining nights, we saw the manager inspecting our room as we got into the car. This place needs serious attention, and I believe it may be a health hazard. I’d rather sleep in my car than spend time and money here.

The location was about the only thing this hotel had going for it. We stayed in room 104 for Louder Than Life 2025, when room prices were through the roof and availability was limited. On the first night, the main issue was dust covering everything. The next day there was a roach on the door and several more moving around the kitchenette. The front desk said they’d pass it on to morning management, who told us it was fine since the bugs were gone or dead. The bathroom door had streaks down the back that looked like rust from the hinges or blood. The baseboards had holes and dirt smeared across them. Our towels, linens, and garbage bags were never changed, and the room wasn’t cleaned during our stay. They said we weren’t up during housekeeping hours, though we left around 9:30-10 each morning and didn’t get back until after midnight. I checked our luggage carefully at home because I was worried we might bring the infestation with us. Other festival attendees told us they’d experienced similar rooms.

Having a stove burner was a real plus for me as a traveler with food allergies. I only ended up here because my car broke down and the hotel was next to the repair shop, but the remodeled Days Inn room turned out much better than I expected.
