Travelodge by Wyndham Sellersburg / Louisville North

I'm stuck here for two more days in a dirty, roach infested hotel. The booking agency keeps telling me to wait 5 to 7 days while they investigate before deciding on a PARTIAL REFUND. They say it would only be partial because I'm choosing to stay, but I explained that $400 was my budget and $388 went to this room, so without a refund I can't afford to move elsewhere. I booked a king jacuzzi suite for a last minute business trip, hoping for something pleasant and relaxing. The bed definitely wasn't king sized, maybe queen. I own a cleaning business and spent two hours on the tub, then another three on the shower. Breakfast was nasty coffee, and the service came with a crappy attitude. If zero stars were an option, that's what I'd give this disgusting hotel.

The bed was reasonably clean and soft, and we were glad to have somewhere that would take our dog. Still, we got the impression the people there didn't like animals. The room itself was dirty, with a spider living behind the bathroom door; the window and door were filthy too. The TV remote didn't work, the road noise was loud, and there was a big gap under the door. It looks like it used to be a lovely place, with a garden and pool area, but now it's slowly falling apart. It'll do if you urgently need to get off the road, though we left disappointed.

We were at the pool for only 15 minutes when the owner started yelling at the girls, asking if they were guests and saying they couldn't swim. They're 12 year old preteens. I don't know why he didn't look for an adult or parent instead of assuming they'd just wandered in. When I tried to talk to him, he wouldn't listen and told me to get out. Very bad, Mr Man. I had rented a room for a birthday party because the outdoor pool seemed perfect. I called first to ask if it was allowed and was told yes, then checked out the pool and hallway in person. It seemed clean enough, just an older hotel. I called again with more questions before booking, and the night before the party I checked once more about food, floaties, and what was allowed. I was told everything was fine.

For the price, the location worked perfectly for us: close to Louisville, but not right in the middle of it. We stayed three nights. The pool was clean and nice, the staff were friendly the whole time, and it was fairly quiet. It was clean, too. The beds were the size they said, so don't expect anything bigger, but they were really hard and we didn't sleep well. Otherwise, not bad for what we paid.
