North Fork Mountain Inn

I loved being out in the middle of nowhere. Petersburg is less than a 30 minute drive, and we’ve thoroughly enjoyed hiking and rafting in the area in the past, though I can’t do those anymore. I also highly recommend John's therapeutic massages. They’re the best. Janese and Nadia were warm and welcoming without hovering. Nadia’s delicious home-cooked meals included breakfast and an extra four-course dinner. My bed was very comfortable, the bathroom was clean, and the decor felt homey. Janese knows the area well, and I settled into a happy three-day retreat. My room was Spruce Knob, at the back of the main floor, with a screened porch I enjoyed. From the front porch, I watched hummingbirds feeding and took in the beautiful mountain views. When my husband and I visited several years ago, we loved the Eagles Nest room on the upper front floor, where a small balcony gave us a view of the night sky. The food was very good, and they even made gluten free waffles for one of us, which we were thrilled about. I’d recommend dinner there too when it’s available. We had a cozy room with a really comfortable bed, and the service was fantastic. Anything we needed was taken care of. The setting is amazing and must look gorgeous in every season. We had fun on the little private porch off the back, watching for wildlife over coffee in the morning and a drink in the evening. The campfire at night was lovely, with so many stars. We’d stay again!

We had a great getaway here. The place is quiet and peaceful, with lots of amenities, and the hosts were really helpful. Their specific local tips made the trip even more fun.

The homemade breakfast made for such a cozy start to the day, surrounded by beautiful nature. Our host was welcoming, the space was clean and tidy, and the views were so relaxing. We had a lovely stay.
