Comfort Suites Kodak Sevierville

I was unsure after reading the reviews, so I stopped in before booking. The woman at the front desk kindly showed us around and let us see the pet-friendly room we’d be using. It was clean, and the hotel had the basics we needed, including free breakfast. It’s centrally located just off the main highway.

For over $500 for the weekend, this place felt like a joke. The building is run down, and the rug in the elevator had come loose from its tape over a broken floor, making it a tripping hazard. In the room, stains were on the pillows, bedding, curtains, and elsewhere. There was mold in the bathroom, on the room carpet, and on the air unit. The bathroom sink is actually in the room, outside the bathroom. The smell hit as soon as we walked in, like they’d put down ten bottles of powdered carpet freshener. The hallway carpets were stained on every floor. We tried to stick it out, but within 30 minutes all three of us had headaches and sore throats. If you have asthma or serious allergies, especially to mold, do not stay here. I can’t understand how it has 4.1 stars.

The front desk service was good, but the rest of the hotel fell short. The fitness center was extremely hot and didn’t have any weights. Our room was dirty, the floors felt sticky, and the shower wouldn’t drain.

After a long drive, the very comfortable bed was much appreciated. Nice rooms and a great location. I’d definitely recommend staying here if you’re passing through.
