Quality Inn & Suites Sevierville - Pigeon Forge

The location is handy, just outside Pigeon Forge’s main strip, and we especially enjoyed the hot tub and pool area. The rooms were only okay for cleanliness, and the breakfast space was so crowded that we skipped it. The doors and keypad looked as if they’d been forced or broken into before, and barely worked. The handle was flimsy, and the key card was unreliable. My main reason for giving two stars is housekeeping: they kept knocking every hour, even with Do Not Disturb on. On checkout day it was worse, starting at 7 and coming every hour even though checkout was 10 or 11. We stayed because it was cheap, and you get what you pay for.

The off-season rate was great, but the stock photos were what got you there. I’d stayed years ago and loved the location, but this isn’t the place for me now. The building and rooms are run-down. My two-bed room with a sofa wasn’t serviced, so when I got back after 9 p.m. I had to ask the front desk for extra towels. There were no sheets for the sofa bed, the cabinets were old and warped, and the mattresses were lumpy and different sizes. The cleaning staff used so much air freshener that we had to leave the door open for a while. At least room 152 was inside the pool area. The breakfast area was dark, and the food just did the job.

The room wasn’t clean: a used bar of soap and a dirty washcloth were left from the previous guest. That says a lot about the attention paid to cleaning between stays. Staff’s attitude was even worse, and I wouldn’t recommend staying here. I’d been here for three days last week because my car unexpectedly broke down. I paid properly and on time, with card receipts to prove it, so being told today that I couldn’t stay any longer because of “payment issues” was confusing and frustrating. You’d think a business would appreciate a guest staying longer and paying on time.

For a budget hotel, it was better than I expected. Our room was clean and surprisingly spacious, and I liked having a separate living room and bedroom. The pull-out couch was handy with teenagers. Staff were friendly and accommodating, and housekeeping came first thing in the morning to see if we needed anything. We had a room right over the nice indoor pool. The hotel is close to the attractions but far enough from the traffic and bustle. We’ll stay here again and are looking forward to our next trip.
