Sunset Inn & Suites

The rooms are plain and a bit dated, though mine was clean and the bed was softer and more comfortable than I expected. The staff and owners are what make this place, they were great about helping with what I needed. I checked in before 10am and could stay all day without an extra charge, and the price was good. Walmart is right next door, which is handy. If you want something fancy, pick a chain. For a simple, affordable, friendly stay, this works.

I stay at the Sunset a couple of times a month while I'm on my mission, and it's become a really pleasant routine. The staff are professional and helpful, but also friendly enough to know you by your first name. My room has always been ready to relax in, whether I arrive to rest or settle in for a while. It's surprisingly affordable, too. Lately it feels less like checking in and more like coming home.

The rooms are reasonably clean, but dated, and there were cigarette burns in the bathtub. The Wi-Fi was too weak to stream on their Roku, so don't count on watching TV. You can also hear everything from the rooms next door.

I wouldn't have wanted to stay here when I first arrived a year ago, honestly. Since becoming part of the place, I clean rooms daily and have seen the ownership change. We're working through problems left by the previous owners, and things are slowly getting better. It's still an old, outdated motel, but there's plenty of room to improve it. We're hoping to give it a fresh new look and make everyone feel welcome. Enjoy 😉
