Economy Inn

We only stayed because we were in town for the Solar Eclipse and everything was booked when I reserved in March. One place was available for $175, and I should have chosen it. The other places cost $300 or more. This motel was only good enough to sleep in, and I wouldn’t recommend it. The older couple who owned it seemed to do what they could. Still, the toilet was badly stained, probably from hard water. The showerhead base had broken off the wall, and the drain stopper was missing its rubber piece so it wouldn’t stay down. The TV was bad too. I don’t know what programming they used, but it wasn’t cable, and the few channels kept freezing every few minutes.

I got here Monday, and the staff have been kind and accommodating. My room is nice, with a king-size bed, and smoking and non-smoking rooms are available. Parking is convenient, and lots of restaurants are within walking distance. Sunshine Cafe is highly recommended, along with the other local places. I’m planning to stay until Friday unless my plans change.

We came for the Solar Eclipse and got what we paid for. The motel is quite dated, but good for the price. The sheets had a couple of stains, though there were no bed bugs or cockroaches, unlike what other reviews mentioned. The shower, sink, heater and AC, TV, and fridge all worked. There was no breakfast, the pool had no water, and the ice machine appeared broken.

The room was lovely and spacious, and the bed was very comfortable. We especially liked the sheets. The hotel was clean and quiet, with a secure parking area where most spaces were close to the rear door. Shops and many restaurants are within walking distance. There wasn’t breakfast during my stay. I’d definitely recommend it.
