Fairfield Inn & Suites Seymour

Trey at the front desk was so kind when he heard we were traveling for a funeral. It felt like genuine hometown friendliness. This Marriott was clean, comfortable, and handy to I-65. Enjoy your stay 😄

The bed was comfortable, and the coffee was hot and ready. I was traveling across the country and booked through the app, choosing to use my phone as the room key. At arrival, I was told I still had to check in at the desk and get a key, which was no big deal. It was around 11:30 p.m., and when I got to the room to shower and sleep, there was no shower curtain. I told the front desk, but it was late and I never got one during my stay. I left by 6:00 a.m., didn’t try breakfast, and didn’t really experience the other amenities.

The staff were friendly, and the room was clean, though a bit musty and dated. It wasn’t bad, and I’d probably stay again. I was in Seymour for work and stayed two nights.

As soon as I opened the room door, a horrible smell of dirt and age hit me. The place felt old and dirty, and I wouldn’t stay here again even if it were free. I’ve stayed at hotels in this chain before and was surprised by this one. The reception staff were nice, but I packed as soon as I could and left. I only had to stay one night. On Sunday morning the fire alarm went off, with smoke and a burning smell everywhere. I panicked and left the room. Staff told us not to worry and said someone had apparently burned something in the microwave and the fire department was on the way. The alarm was so loud it left me deaf. I understand unexpected things can happen, but the staff weren’t properly trained for emergencies, whatever the severity. The whole floor was smoky, and staff kept working while the toxic smell remained. Their equipment is outdated, and I’m sure that was the issue.
