Days Inn by Wyndham Shallotte

Having my dogs with me made me worry a lot less, and the staff were very accommodating. I also liked being able to head straight to breakfast in the hotel instead of going out to find food. I chatted with sarah for a bit, and she had lots of helpful information about shallotte and the surrounding areas.

I came for a funeral and had to deal with no hot water. The manager told me one thing, while the maintenance man said something completely different. It was 39 degrees, and they expected me to shower in ice-cold water. The manager offered a discount, but that doesn't let me take a shower. This was the worst hotel experience ever. This is the worst hotel in America. It's bs.

The breakfast area was the one part that wasn't too bad. The rest was awful. We were in town for a bowling tournament and stayed two nights. When we arrived, nobody was at the desk; I rang twice before someone came. Our room smelled of mildew, and the beds were horrible, with every spring making noise and poking through. My bowling partners had the same problem. The shower water wasn't very hot, the tub was only half-clean, and there appeared to be mold and mildew in the bathroom. After bowling, we came back to an uncleaned room. We asked for clean towels and washcloths, but the cleaning lady said she'd bring them and never did, so I had to get them at the front desk. Days Inn, please give that cleaner some help. She could barely walk, let alone clean rooms. Please don't stay here unless you absolutely have to.

As we came up to the entrance, an old lady was smoking in her walker right in front of the door. Inside the lobby, one pink sock sat in plain view of the clerk. Our room smelled of mildew and bug spray. I put down my bag and checked under the bed. There was no sealed mattress, and the mattress was covered in black bedbug stains. I've never seen a hotel so unsafe, unhealthy, and filthy in my life, even though I've lived in a 3rd world country. Zero stars.
