The lobby had a convenient quick breakfast area, and coffee was available 24/7. The hotel is handy for traffic heading to Myrtle Beach, about 10 miles from the SC border. My room was on the smaller side. Ask to see the room if you like it dark for sleeping, because lights from the neighboring business and pool made the right side of the building very bright, and the white shade didn't help much. Our alarm clock malfunctioned, so it was hard to keep track of the time.

The room felt fresh and well cared for, and the whole hotel was in good shape. It was also quiet and relaxing, and I slept really well. At the Quality Inn in Shallotte near Ocean Isle Beach, check-in was quick, the place was very clean, and the staff were friendly. I liked everything about my stay and would definitely come back.

The room was clean and very nice, the employees were friendly, and breakfast was pretty good. One suggestion: the light coming into the rooms at night is really bright, so blackout curtains or drapes would help.

Our room was the most unsanitary I've ever stayed in. The bed had stains from previous guests, the bath towel was yellow-stained, the furniture was marked up, and the floor was filthy. We had booked two nights but checked out after one, showed the front desk photos, and were told we'd only pay for the night we stayed. They still charged us for both nights and then said they wouldn't do anything about it. We booked another hotel for the second night of our trip. We wouldn't recommend this place.

We put the privacy tag on the door, but someone ignored it and entered while we were out. The coffee and breakfast weren't good either. If you care about privacy and decent coffee, spend a little more for a better place.
