We couldn't even make it through the first night after paying for two. The rooms were disgusting, full of mold, bugs, and trash, and the AC didn't cool the room while blowing mold spores everywhere. Management won't return calls, answer emails or texts, or refund the night we didn't stay. They also charged an extra $28 for an extra person on both nights. I'm out $500+ after the worst experience. The owner and desk staff were extremely rude, and they kept lying when I tried to dispute the charges. Read the reviews and stay away.
I was staying here to umpire at Cooperstown dreams park. I've umpired in Cooperstown five times, and this was by far the worst place I've found. The air conditioner wasn't cold because of a dirty filter, and the bathroom sink and tub were clogged. I sprayed the bed with Lysol. The website pictures aren't what you see in person. If I go back, I'd rather sleep at the Cooperstown site. Honestly, sleeping in your car would be a step up. Never again.
The owner was nice, but the rooms were nothing like the pictures online. It's an old motel with very limited amenities, so keep your expectations low. There were spiders and other bugs in the room, the shower floor was painted, and the air conditioning sort of worked. The units are all in the windows, and instead of the key cards shown in the pictures, there was just a deadbolt. At the end of the day, it's a place to lay your head.
The bed linens seemed clean, but everything else was filthy. Dead insects filled the drawers, sink cabinet, and shower, and we had to disinfect the toilet seat because of remains from the prior guest. The mattress was thin, with a sheet of plywood underneath making it firm. Noise from the heater, a major highway just feet away, and two guys having sex next door left us with maybe two hours of sleep. We skipped showers before leaving. The worst place we've slept, apart from a tent we abandoned in a rainstorm. Read the earlier reviews. None are kinder than this, except ones I suspect came from motel management. Stay away.
I booked two days without seeing the room first, and I was tired and staying in the area. The man at the desk was very kind, but the musty smell hit as soon as I walked in. There were spiders and webs in nearly every corner, mold on the shelves and in a corner, and appliances that looked like they were from the 70s. I was honestly afraid to turn anything on in case I started a fire. The place was very dirty and unsanitary. The bed definitely had bedbugs, and I itched for a while afterward. The shower looked like something from a horror movie. I was scared to get in; once it was running, the smell of lead and mold filled the bathroom. I couldn't tell what I was putting my feet on, and the floor was poorly painted. The shower was dirty, and the towels left out looked like they hadn't been used since the 1930s. There was no free breakfast, and when you ask for extra toilet paper, you don't get it. For that price, I could have found a much cleaner hotel with more than five TV channels and a shower that was less scarring. I personally wouldn't stay again. If you're considering it, make it a last resort and only if you're falling asleep. It's not worth the money.
