Super 8 Motel - Shawano

The staff were pleasant and helpful, and the place was inexpensive and convenient enough for a short stay. My room was clean, but had no decorations, and the rooms still haven’t been updated. The mattress felt old and a little too springy. If you’re staying longer, you might want to look elsewhere until the property is renovated.

The complimentary breakfast was limited, though decent, and the rooms were plain but clean with beds that seemed comfortable enough. The front desk staff were friendly. It’s a good, convenient hotel just off the main road through Shawano, and it met expectations with few problems. A reasonable option if you’re traveling on a limited budget.

As we packed in the morning, we found a dog bone under the bed, so cleaning may not be a high priority. The front desk took our room number, and I wasn’t too upset. The room was adequate for sleeping, though the king bed was very soft at the edges and the pillows seemed quite old.

The front desk staff were friendly, which is why I’m giving this two stars. The rest was downhill. The room looked cleaned at first, but there was still garbage on the floor and toenail clippings on the carpet. The heating vent was full of gunk, and I worried about getting sick from breathing the air. I had the worst night’s sleep ever on the most uncomfortable bed I’ve ever laid on. The lighting setup was poor too, with the lamps and TV all running off one switch by the door. I’ll never stay at this super 8 again.
