Hampton Inn Shelton

I got almost no sleep at the Shelton Hampton Inn. Around 10pm, water started dripping steadily from the ceiling onto the carpet in room 601. It never stopped, and by then it was too late to change rooms since I needed to be up at 6am. A blue light from the HVAC system flickered in the ceiling all night as well. I’d checked in after 830pm on Friday 4/25/26 with two friendly front desk clerks, so things seemed fine at first. When I checked out, the clerk took down the information and sent me on my way, but no one apologized or did anything else. Management needs to train its employees better on handling problems like this. I’ve stayed at a lot of Hilton hotels as a diamond member, and this was pretty bad. I won’t be back to the Hampton Innin Shelton anytime soon.

There was plenty of room in the well-lit parking lot, and the location was easy to find. Breakfast had lots of choices, and the area was very clean, with tables cleared quickly after guests left. At check-in, the staff member was friendly and helpful, though the night staff weren’t much help.

Janelle left her leather jacket in our room when we checked out of the Hilton Inn in Bridgeport, Connecticut. We were already on the road before we noticed. Ms. Amy found it and arranged to send it back to us by FedEx, where it was due to arrive the next day. We’re grateful she took care of that for us. That kind of attention made our stay memorable. If you need somewhere to stay in Bridgeport, we’d recommend the Hilton Inn. The staff looked out for us, especially Ms. Amy. Kudos to the team!

During the Can Am in Shelton, we had a great stay. The rooms were clean and roomy, and the gym had plenty of space. What really stood out was how the staff handled an important item I’d left in my room. After I got home and realized it was missing, I called the hotel. Housekeeping had found it, and someone shipped it out the next day. It arrived by Fed Ex two days later. I’d been sure it was stolen, so that was outstanding service.
