Gratiot View Motel

The owner was so welcoming and polite that we felt at home. Our room was very clean and smelled lovely, and the location made it easy to walk to everything we needed. If you like a clean, homely place like we do, this is a great choice. We had an awesome stay and highly recommend it. ☺️

I’m grateful to everyone who left reviews on Expedia, since they helped me find a good place for my partner for the rest of his trip. He’d been traveling around the Midwest for a few weeks, and had planned to stay with friends and family, but changed his mind. I was coordinating from SWFL while he was in the Saginaw area. I compared a few chain hotels on Expedia, but they were pricier than the Gratiot and had no vacancies. The strong reviews convinced me to send him here. He arrived, met the owner, and paid for a room in about five minutes. He could park right by his door and reorganize his rental easily. He said several times that the room smelled amazing, and he felt safe. The bathrooms were clean and new. The next morning, he went back to rebook and they greeted him by name. What more could a solo traveler ask for? Thanks for your hospitality, Gratiot View Motel!

I was hesitant since I usually choose a brand-name chain that costs at least $150. We ended up here after a much fancier, more expensive place cancelled on us without giving a reason, and we were tired and stuck. I’m glad we gave it a chance. It’s a small place, but the rooms were spotless and the owners were so sweet. Don’t hesitate to stay here.

The location is hard to beat, with a grocery store, several gas stations, and multiple fast food options nearby. The rooms are clean, updated, and really comfortable, and the service is great. Questions or concerns are handled patiently. It feels like a little escape from Saginaw, just outside the county lines. Whenever I need a room, this is where I come.
