The breakfast had plenty of options and was really good, and the hotel is near lots of restaurants with easy access in and out. Its location and appearance stood out. But the state of the room changed my mind about Holiday Inn, and I won’t stay here again when other hotels are nearby. The floor hadn’t been vacuumed, mopped, or swept properly. Dirt had been pushed into the entry corners, and there were crumbs, fingernails, and food under both beds. Tiny black plastic bits were scattered on the bed and sheets; I’d brushed them off before thinking to take photos. The door lock looked tampered with and was very loose, and I had to slam the door to get it shut. The shower soap hadn’t been replaced.

The thing that made me write this was the rude breakfast lady. I asked if there was gravy for the biscuits, and got a snippy, “What we have out here is what we have.” Who serves biscuits without gravy? The lot also doesn’t work well for trailers. Turning on the hot shower water made it screech loudly, and the shower head had poor pressure because of the very cheap tub faucet.

I travel a lot and usually find Holiday Inn Express to be a fair experience at worst, especially as a Diamond member, so I didn’t check the reviews. This place wasn’t terrible and it was clean, but my stay left me sure I don’t want to come back. I’d suggest checking out Fairview up the road or another location.

The room was clean and the bed comfortable enough, though the lights didn’t work right and the bathroom lights shut off while I was using it. The air conditioning was loud but did its job. Staff were friendly, and check-in and checkout were easy. Breakfast was better than most, with the team greeting us and asking if we needed anything. The location was decent value among several nearby hotels, though getting to it from the interstate was awkward.

We made a last-minute stop during a snowstorm and were so glad they had a room available. The beds were comfortable, and the staff were friendly and very helpful. It’s a nice hotel, and I’d stop here again when traveling through.
