Breakfast was included and nice, and the double queen room had a handy little kitchen. I slept well here, too. The brick building stayed quiet during my visit, even while a high school reunion was happening, which was a welcome change from some newer hotels.

The best part was being able to share the breakfast buffet with our daughter at no charge. We checked with several employees more than once, and each told us we were welcome to join her. The hotel was beautifully decorated, and everyone we met was exceptionally friendly. That kind of generosity over an excellent breakfast is hard to find. Great hotel, staff, and owners. The hot breakfast is a real standout for a hotel at this price, and I even enjoyed the Chinese restaurant on site, though Chinese food usually isn't my thing. The property looks nice and is conveniently located. My room was plain but clean, with a comfortable bed; I even checked the floor with a cleaning wipe and found little dirt. I also like that there was no carpet. The pool was closed for repairs during my stay, but I'd absolutely book here again. It's a bargain in today's economy.

The place has a really authentic feel, especially if you're visiting from another part of the country, and the breakfast was great. Our room was clean and comfortable, though my bed squeaked a lot. The pool and hot tub were closed for maintenance, but that didn't take away from our stay.

The Orient Express restaurant at the Clarion Inn and Suites was the best Chinese food I've had in Arizona. I'm from San Francisco originally, so I feel like I've got some street cred on that. The hotel itself felt cozy and boutique-like, the room was clean, and the staff were great.
