Courtyard Ventura Simi Valley

The location was convenient, and the staff I dealt with were friendly and welcoming. But there were a few cleanliness and service issues. The bathroom floor looked dirty, as though it hadn't had a deep clean in a while, and the comforter had a noticeable stain. We don't usually use hotel comforters, but it was still concerning. We also asked for clean towels and never got them. The people and location were positives, though the cleaning and follow-through need improvement.

The bed was super comfortable, and the room was pretty clean. Staff service was top notch, and the pool area was great. I liked that the room's AC had a continuous fan setting, since the freeway was right there. That freeway location also made getting around easy for my trip. There was decent food nearby, too. Happy camper, and I'd stay here again. One of the best Courtyards I've been to.

The hotel looks nice online, and both the lobby and rooms looked good. The internet was so inadequate that we couldn't finish a movie because it kept lagging. Also, every door on our floor slammed shut automatically, making it sound like people were throwing furniture around in the hallway late into the night.

The room was worse than the lobby, which had a strong, unpleasant odor as soon as I walked in. There was no bathroom fan, and I was disgusted to find hair stuck to the walls from previous guests. It clearly hadn't been cleaned properly. The breakfast they call included was just items from the on-site Starbucks. The staff member there was incredibly rude and lazy, acting like serving us was a huge burden, as if we owed her something. A very unpleasant stay at this Marriott. Save your money and go elsewhere.
