Best Western Sinton

We were in town for a family funeral, and after driving all the way from Dallas I found a big pee stain on the bed where I was going to sleep. There was a roach on the cover, on the pillow, and in the bathroom too. I called to complain, but the manager yelled at us and said we were wrong to ask him to change the old sheets. He didn't want to do anything to make things right. We later found out the man who'd claimed to be the Clark was actually the manager. He knocked hard on the door, like he was a killer. The manager and the lady at the front were both disrespectful. This is a nasty motel, not a hotel. Please don't choose it if you're visiting Sinton. We had to drive an extra 20min to find a better, more decent place with better service.

The front desk man was really nice, and the pool in the middle of the small U-shaped Best Western was clean. Sinton is a very small town, so the hotels here reflect that. The exterior looks straight out of the 1970s, though the rooms seem updated to the 2000s. I gave it four stars because my room was missing conditioner and lotion, and there was a 12 inch growth of mold under the paint on the molding where the shower meets the bathroom drywall.

The motel might be okay, but the management was awful. I booked a nonsmoking room for a family reunion in January, but when I checked the reservation in March, it showed a smoking room. The itinerary said I could leave a note instead of canceling and making another reservation, so I did. Still, they had a smoking room for me when I arrived. The so-called manager rudely said he couldn't switch it unless I called Expedia Travel Center to cancel and book a nonsmoking room. I called Expedia, explained what was happening, and they put me on hold to speak with him. While they were talking, he stared at me rudely and refused to change the reservation. I've never been treated that way. He has no people skills and gave me the worst customer service I've experienced. I won't recommend the motel. We went to a nearby motel instead, where people were much nicer.

I stayed somewhere else after the man at Best Western in Sinton Tx wanted to charge me $109 a night for a single and wouldn't honor a military discount. In all my many travels, this is the only one that has refused it. I called a few days later to speak with the manager, Mike, but Sharon was unpleasant and unprofessional, and hung up on me.
