Courtyard by Marriott Sioux Falls

The location made this trip easy: Courtyard by Marriott Sioux Falls is right off I-29, beside the Empire Mall, and close to everything. We were traveling for business, and our Two-Room King Suite gave us a quiet place for Zoom calls and a roomy setup for work. The big desk had a pull-out arm overlooking the balcony, there was lots of natural light, and the kitchenette had a sink, microwave, and mini fridge. The bed was comfortable, and the walk-in shower had great pressure. After a long winter drive, the lobby fire made the hotel feel welcoming right away. The staff even offered to get something from The Bistro as it was closing. Dinner there was delicious, with fresh ingredients and great service. We had a Burger and Fries, Crispy Chicken Wings, and a Bacon and Cheese Quesadilla, all cooked and seasoned well. The booths have mini TVs, which were great for watching football. Breakfast was another highlight: Avocado Toast with fresh arugula, the Bistro Breakfast Sandwich with fried egg, applewood-smoked bacon, aged white cheddar, lemon-dressed arugula and avocado mash on a brioche bun, French Toast with Strawberries, and Morning Flatbread with eggs, herbed cheese, green onions, bacon, avocado mash, and salsa. Everything was delicious. The flatbread was good for sharing and made tasty leftovers the next day. Starbucks Coffee hit the spot on a cold morning. The Fitness Center equipment was new, clean, and well maintained. With snow outside, the Indoor Pool and Whirlpool Tub looked inviting. There’s also a Business Center, Guest Laundry, and free airport shuttle, useful extras for a road trip or longer stay. David at the front desk was warm and welcoming, and Jon helped with our luggage cart when we left. Erika and Derrick in The Bistro were attentive, asked about our visit, and gave us local recommendations. Those personal touches stood out. This is a convenient, well-run choice for business travelers who want room to work and good food on site. We’d happily return.

We were very happy with the catering food, and the bistro was great to have as an option. The rooms were fine too. I plan to hold more business meetings at this location.

The rooms smelled like cat litter and cigars, and my first-floor window was wide open when I arrived. The staff were condescending and repulsive, and this was the most disgusting Marriott I’ve ever stayed in. I was charged for a supposedly fraudulent pet accident, with the claim that my 8-pound service animal had peed in the room. I reached out multiple times and was told they’d provide photos and the manager would contact me, but nobody ever followed up. I had to get my bank involved. I would never recommend this filthy, careless place, whether you have a service animal or not. This experience is the reason I’ll never stay with Marriott again. They’re scammers and frauds.

David gave us great customer service. The room was quiet and very clean, and the beds were comfortable. We drive this route every year and will keep stopping here.
