Hilton Garden Inn Sioux Falls Downtown

From my third-floor two-queen room, I had an awesome view of Sioux Falls. The hotel was beautiful and comfortable, and the staff were kind and helpful. Construction was underway during my visit, but it thankfully didn't disrupt my stay. There was a strange, sewage-like smell when I first entered the room. It was quite bad at first, then gradually faded. That odor is why I'm giving the otherwise nice hotel four stars.

Crave downstairs was the highlight for me. The food was pretty good, but I really appreciated being asked whether I wanted a vegetarian or gluten-free menu. I'm vegetarian, and no one had ever asked me that before. Yes, I wanted the veggie menu, and thanks for asking! The room was spacious, super clean, and had a good river view. The bed was harder than I prefer, though I made a pillow nest and slept decently. The hotel is lovely and the staff were so kind. Construction made check-in and getting around a little awkward, but it was less stressful than I expected.

We love the balconies and big windows in these suites. There's plenty of room and natural light for bridal prep, and the rooms are consistently clean and well maintained. On-site parking is convenient, especially compared with paid parking around downtown. Highly recommend.

Oct 20,2025. The hotel is massively under construction. They're doing their best in the circumstances, but it's unprofessional to hide how messy and loud it is, and that some amenities are unavailable, while charging $200/night. Travelers need enough information to make an informed choice. Construction noise starts at 8am, and there's no access to a workout room. They offer another gym, but walking through an unfamiliar place at 5am isn't safe for me. I expected a lower rate and clear notice that there would be construction during my stay. I'd been wavering between committing to Hilton and switching to Marriott Bonvoy. This settled it, I'm moving to Marriott.
