Nordic Lodge

Our favorite part was the private patio right above the woods. The room was very clean, the beds were comfortable, and the price was quite reasonable. Breakfast was continental, with packaged sandwiches and waffles and similar things you could heat in the microwave. We usually stay at an upscale hotel in Ephraim, but tried this place for its location and were pleasantly surprised. No complaints, and we’d return.

Breakfast was good and the prices were great. We didn’t use the pool, though lots of other people did. The rooms, beds, and bathrooms and showers were very clean, and the prices were reasonable. Everything was great, and we’ll be back.

We stayed two nights as a family of three. Breakfast was simple, but it gave us a quick bite before heading out, and the price seemed fair for what we got. The room was petite, quaint, and clean, with nothing fancy. I liked being able to open both a window and the door to the trees outside. There were plenty of clean towels, and housekeeping replenished them on day two. But the two queen beds both sagged and need an upgrade. We’d expected the pool to be a highlight, but it was disappointing. Tables and chairs needed wiping, wrappers and garbage were on the pool and hot tub deck floors, soot needed sweeping, plants were dead, and there was general maintenance to do. I told the front desk, and was offered, “I can come clean up the area you’re sitting in.” I just wanted them to know the whole area needed attention. The pool and hot tub water did seem clean. The stay was okay, but I can’t say I’d return. I think they could do much better with some care and attention to repairs and upgrades.

I remember when this place was first built, and it still has its charm. The rooms are large and there are lots of amenities, with a location that can’t be beat. I enjoyed the experience, but my companions didn’t share my rose-colored glasses. The place needs a face lift: the interior could use some sprucing up and the verandahs need fresh paint. Its competitors are younger and more contemporary.
