The trails made this place special for us. There were lots to walk, and they felt safe, with flowers, birds, squirrels, and a few honkers along the way. The rooms were clean and nice, though on the older side. We also ate at the restaurant, where the prices were good and the food really tasty. The hamburgers, bacon cheeseburgers, and catfish were the best. Breakfast was decent too, with eggs, biscuits and gravy, fruit juice, coffee, cereal, and danishes. The staff were extremely friendly, and the place stayed very clean at breakfast, lunch, and dinner. We’d definitely recommend it.

We’re already planning another visit. The lodge is close to several hiking trails, and the property is well cared for. There’s a nice bourbon bar and restaurant, plus a good breakfast to get you going in the morning.

We came for a day trip and didn’t stay at the campground. It’s a clean, family-friendly park, and the trails are clearly marked. Some trail rails and drainage are dated or broken, though they’re being worked on slowly. The roads have at least a couple of big bad spots, and the signage can be unclear or missing. They could also do a better job letting people know what amenities are available.

For a peaceful way to reach the Natural Bridge in the RRG, take the skylift. It’s about $17 roundtrip. From there, walk down the stairs and squeeze between the rock walls to get underneath the bridge. It’s easy for anyone with regular mobility. Don’t miss it if you’re in the area.

We wished we’d had more time here. The staff were all friendly, and we saw lots of families out enjoying the well-maintained hiking trails. It’s a beautiful park and very well maintained.
