The rooms aren't very clean whenever we stay, and we wish they'd do a better job. Still, we love the location and keep coming back for Christina at the front desk. She always checks us in, greets us with a smile, asks about our day and whether we need anything, and gets us to our room quickly. After a long day traveling, she's a real breath of fresh air. She deserves a raise or a promotion or something. As long as she's there, we'll continue to stay.

The staff were friendly and helpful, and the beds were comfortable. But the facility is old, and our room wasn't cleaned well because the floor hadn't been vacuumed. We were on the first floor facing the parking lot, and the curtains wouldn't close all the way, which felt uncomfortable. Kids in the room above us were noisy until midnight or later. With so many hotels nearby, I wouldn't stay here again.

The fixtures in the rooms and common areas are old and outdated, and the property needs modernization. The downstairs public restroom was dirty and had no paper towels. The room AC units may work, but the hallway air conditioning on both the second and third floors was completely off during my stay on May 21, 2026. Walking out of the room felt like stepping into an oven. That, along with the cleaning and maintenance issues, falls short of basic hospitality. I wouldn't recommend the hotel until these problems are addressed.

I'm a Choice member, but this Smithfield location is poor. The ice machine had no water, and the TV didn't work as expected. We had a handicap room because my wife uses a wheelchair, yet the bathroom had a bathtub she can't use. The toilet paper roll wouldn't turn, so dispensing paper took two hands. Don't expect quality here.

The location off Interstate 95 is good, and that's about the only thing I'd recommend. The refrigerator had leftover serafoam food containers, the tub had a nasty black stuck-on mat that looked like it needed a bottle of bleach, and the floor needed cleaning. The desk looked like it hadn't been dusted in a year or two. I'd suggest staying only if you're exhausted and can't find anywhere else to rest.
