The Elk Camp Gondola is right outside Capital Peak Lodge, so the location couldn't be better. We stayed in a one-bedroom suite on this Snowmass visit. It feels like an apartment in a great resort, which we liked, though it doesn't offer everything you'd get at a full-service hotel like the Viceroy. Check-in and parking were a bit awkward: we had to check in at the Stonebridge Inn, then drive over to Capital Peak. Once we got settled, everything went smoothly.

We stayed in 3324, on the top floor, where it was quieter and the views were better. The cathedral ceiling was a nice touch. It's an upscale spot with the lifts, fine dining, and hiking trails just steps away.

We'd stay here again. The place was good value for the price, high quality, well located, and the staff were professional. It has a washer and dryer, fireplace, and balcony, and Snowmass is an easy walk away. On our first day, Mitch? I think that was his name, helped us find parking. It was tricky because the GPS takes you to the building next door. The staff we reached by phone were friendly and helpful in guiding us there. Great experience, highly recommend.

The room was comfortable and the grounds were very clean during the off season. My one complaint is the cleaning fee, over $200. It should be included in the daily rate. It felt like a way to attract guests and then add fees. I understand that charge for a house rental, but not a hotel.
