Mountain Chalet Snowmass

We followed the hotel’s directions to the designated parking area and paid the required fee, but later received several parking fines from the Town of Snowmass Village for parking in that same spot. At checkout, we raised it with Ms. Jasmine at the front desk and were told the hotel would handle it. The only follow-up was a copy of our parking receipt, with no mention of the fines or any sign that they’d been addressed. It’s unacceptable to be penalized after relying on the hotel’s explicit instructions. Charging for parking and then leaving guests exposed to municipal fines points to a serious coordination and accountability problem. What could have been a pleasant stay was overshadowed by this. I encourage management to take responsibility and make the parking guidance clearer so other guests don’t run into the same issue.

Getting on and off the slopes so easily made the stay worthwhile. The building is old and shows wear, though. The food was hot and pretty good, with unlimited hot cocoa and coffee. The fresh OJ was outstanding. My one complaint: there was a human depression on one side of the mattress.

The complimentary breakfast was the one good part of our stay. I booked for a hockey tournament because this was one of the more affordable options within a decent distance of the Aspen rinks. I was also told it was close to food and shopping, but about 95% of those places were shut for the offseason. I woke up with BED BUG BITES. The room phone had no cord and wasn’t connected to anything, so it was useless. When I told the front desk, they didn’t fix the phone and said I was probably allergic to the detergent. I carried on with the trip, but the next day I had more BED BUG BITES, and the first ones had become big, painfully itchy welts. They said they’d tell a manager. I heard nothing, so I called. They said pest control would inspect the room and they’d update me, but I never got a call. I regret not leaving after the first night or asking to move rooms. Shame on me for not standing up for myself, and SHAME ON THEM for having a problem and showing no customer care!

My whole family loves the Mount Chalet. The breakfast and lunch are both excellent, and we all come together for breakfast every morning and meet up again for lunch.
