The townhouse is right by the Powder Monkey lift, with ski-in, ski-out access that’s hard to beat. It’s a short walk to the village, and there’s parking by the private entrance. The kitchen is large, has new appliances and everything needed for cooking. There are lovely tongue-and-groove wood walls throughout, nice linens and towels, remodeled bathrooms with large showers, a warm gas fireplace, excellent Wi-Fi, free long-distance landline calls, and a ski gear closet. The beds were great, except for the ancient, hard pullout couch. The bathrooms had no heat, so they were freezing after a shower, and there’s no bathtub. The second TV is in the loft, which is a strange setup since the loft opens onto the living room and you can’t use both TVs at once. Its remote was missing. I also had to shovel my way in the first night. The parking plow left a three-foot bank that should have been cleared. It had stopped snowing hours earlier and the plow had already been through, but I had to climb it in street clothes, get a shovel, and clear a path. I liked the unit overall, but the arrangement between the private owner and Snowshoe isn’t working well. The owner had no maintenance contract, so Snowshoe wouldn’t fix issues, even though I booked through Snowshoe. That shouldn’t have been my problem.
