We went over the holidays, and the place looked beautifully decorated inside and out. Our two-bedroom residence was roomy and could easily sleep 10 people, and the service was great. Some of the finishes feel a bit dated, but everything was well kept and still had that rustic, high-end lodge feel.

Getting to the slopes on foot was easy, and the location is close to skiing. The kitchens are fully stocked, so buying groceries and cooking makes more sense. Breakfast was about $40 for coffee, two muffins, and a sandwich. The hotel restaurants were very average, though room service cost about the same and was excellent. The beds weren’t comfortable, and the snow plows behind the hotel start at 4:30 a.m., clearing the lot every 30 minutes. Don’t expect to sleep late in that part of the hotel.

The two-bedroom unit was spacious and comfortable, and it came with a private sauna that wasn’t mentioned in the reservation. Having a washer and dryer in the room was handy, and the hotel provided detergent and fabric softener sheets. Housekeeping every other day was enough for our stay. Some parts of the room and property felt dated, though, and for about $900 a night I expected more in-room basics. There was no proper kitchen or dining area, no microwave or full-size fridge, just a coffee maker. I had to ask for a mini fridge, and it was too small for our groceries. The biggest advantage is the location: right in Canyons Village, with true ski-in/ski-out access and lifts, restaurants, rentals, and shops just steps away. I stayed at the Grand Summit Hotel during Spring Break in March 2026. I’d give it four stars, and better kitchen amenities and storage would make it a five-star stay.

The location is great and the people are nice, but staying here felt like being in a disgusting dungeon. It’s an old, smelly hotel that seems to be falling apart, and the carpets were sticky and smelled bad. The HVAC made strange sounds all night and couldn’t keep the room at a steady temperature. We got no housekeeping during our four days, even though they said it would come. There were almost no dining options outside of lunch, and room service was gross. It was unbelievably overpriced. Save yourself and your family from this terrible experience. Do not stay here.

The location was the only good thing about this hotel. We were given a smaller room than the one we booked, and they wouldn’t acknowledge the mistake. They eventually refunded a small amount, but sent it to the wrong credit card. Somehow the hotel’s system had the wrong card attached to our room, and they checked us out before we were ready. Then they blamed us for providing the wrong card for the refund. I can overlook glitches and human errors if I’m treated with basic respect, but the staff, especially the manager, were rude and refused to accept responsibility. The way they spoke to us felt like they had no interest in hospitality, and since we’d already paid, they seemed to have no incentive to care. I won’t return.
