The service, food options, and resort amenities all fell short of what we expected from the Waldorf Astoria. Staff often seemed disengaged, with little warmth, urgency, or accountability, and the stay didn’t feel five-star in its service or execution. There were problems in the room from the start: hair in the shower when we arrived and no hot water in the sinks throughout our stay. On our last day, just as we were leaving, a disgusting odor had spread across the entire third floor, including our room. We were glad to be checking out when it became noticeable. We landed after a six-hour flight and reached the hotel close to midnight, tired and hoping to order room service. The room service number went to voicemail. The front desk said the restaurant was completely closed, so there was no room service at all, and suggested we order McDonald’s delivery. At a resort presented as luxury, that was unacceptable. Food and drink options were disappointing during the rest of the visit too. There was no non-dairy milk for coffee to go, only regular milk, and we heard several other guests raise the same issue. Oat milk should be available at this level. The pool was so cold nobody used it, and with one of the two hot tubs closed, the one that remained was overcrowded and unusable. The property is also advertised as ski-in/ski-out, but the route back to the hotel is actually a golf course, and there was no snow on it in February. We had to walk to the gondola and ride it down to get back, which felt misleading for a ski destination hotel. This was far below the standard we expected from the Waldorf Astoria name.

That hot tub by the pool was such a nice vibe, and we loved the nightly cocoa and s’mores station. We came for our honeymoon in the first week of February and had a terrific stay. The staff were kind, friendly, and helpful; our room was cute and clean, with a fireplace. There’s even a Pilates studio. The location worked great for us.

The location is great, and the cozy touches were nice. The ski valet was fantastic, and I loved the hot cocoa each night. But service had a serious problem: the night shuttle was just one van for too many people. Staff kept sending us back and forth, and we waited outside in near-freezing rain for an hour before someone finally helped us get an Uber. The coffee in the morning was basically water, the breakfast sausages were really dry, and the Aesop toiletries were inconsistent. One bottle seemed fake. Service and some basics need a lot of work.

We loved having the resort close enough to the mountain for snowboarding, while still set apart from the bustle of the immediate village. A quick gondola ride took us to Canyon Village to start each day, and the shuttle to main street was invaluable. The Ski Valet was one of the best resort perks I’ve had, with our gear ready every day and our boots warm and dry. We were there for our honeymoon and were blown away by the service, personal touches, and luxury amenities. The Hilton status room upgrade was incredible, and the welcome gifts were thoughtful. Igancio at the front desk, Chef Stuart, and Aaron at Powder made the trip extra special. Huge thanks to the team. We’ll be back!

We felt truly looked after throughout our stay and would definitely return. The hotel was gorgeous, elegant, cozy, and beautifully designed. From the valet who took our car to the people who opened doors, helped with luggage, and checked in on us, everyone was welcoming, kind, and professional. The staff went out of their way to make the visit special. We loved our stay and highly recommend it.
