Kenai River Lodge

My son woke around 12:30 AM with bites on his knee, and we saw a bed bug. He photographed both the bug and the bites. We asked to change rooms, but the office door had a sign saying it was closed. What is a guest supposed to do if something more serious goes wrong with the room? Someone should be there 24 hours, this doesn't feel safe. We stayed in Nov, 2025. The next day, the front desk clerk was disgusted by the photos, but said only the manager could approve a discount or refund. The manager had our email and phone number and never contacted us or issued a refund. $128 a night to sleep with bed bugs.

We came for a family wedding with different expectations, so we just weren't prepared for what the place offered. Still, it was nice to have beds for all five of us in the room. There was only one bathroom, but we made it work. The people were nice and helpful, and the place is right on the river for fishing. I don't like leaving a bad review because I know the owner depends on the business. If you're prepared for the amenities, it may be acceptable.

Good value, with a nice view of the river from the rooms. The staff were very nice, and the location is central, both in town and on the river.

The room was honestly one of the best we've had, with nothing to criticize. Management and staff were top-notch, super helpful and flexible, and really friendly.
