Candlewood Suites Airport by IHG

My flight delay had already put me in a bad mood, so I was pleasantly surprised by how much I liked this hotel. The service was far better than I expected, and the room’s older but well-kept layout reminded me of a one-bedroom apartment. It had a full-size sink, dishwasher, and fridge, plus a spacious living room and a great bed. Some good, inexpensive restaurants were within walking distance. I don’t usually write reviews, but this place made a lasting impression and made my layover much more enjoyable. I’d absolutely stay again if I’m in the area. Stay here if you want to be by the airport.

They canceled my reservation a week before check-in, even though I’d booked four months ahead, and left me with no other options for the concert in town. Their customer service was terrible, and they left me hanging at the last minute. Replying to management: this was the first time I’d received an explanation. The “good faith” booking option meant an 80-minute round trip to the concert venue, while the hotel I’d booked was only 30 minutes away. That wasn’t reasonable. The “substantial” amount I requested was for the $700 concert tickets I can’t use now. Their response spins the story to make them look good. My point is made.

The room was a nice size, and the beds were clean and comfortable. But there was still hair from previous guests in the shower, which hadn’t been cleaned properly. Check-in took around 20 minutes even though we’d already booked and paid online.

It’s close to the airport and has a big parking lot. Everyone is quick to help when needed. There’s a community cupboard where you can buy food, plus complimentary hot coffee that’s always available and fresh fruit.
